Bihar Minority Residential School

The Bihar Minority Residential Schools, established under Bihar State Minority Awasiya Vidyalaya Yojna, aimed to provide free, quality residential education to students from Minority Communities (Muslim, Shikh, Christian, Parsi, Jain and Bodh) across Bihar. These residential schools are designed to fulfill the holistic development of students from Class 9 to Class 12.

  • Free Education and Facilities: Students get free education, accommodation, meals , medical care and books.
  • Curriculum: Bihar Minority Residential School offers classes from 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. For class 12th, it provides mainly two streams PCB (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Math).

Reservation Policy

In Bihar Minority Residential School, 50% of the seats are reserved for girls, and 75% of the seats are reserved for rural students for both boys and girls.

Eligibility Criteria For Admission

  • Resident of Bihar: Candidates must be the resident of Bihar and belong to the minority communities (Muslim, Shikh, Isai, Parsi, Jain and Bodh).
  • Age Limit: The maximum age limit for class 9th is 16 years and 18 years for class 11th admission.
  • Annual Income: The annual family income should not exceed 600000.00 (six lac).

Admission Process

Admission in Minority Residential School for Kishanganj and Darbhanga is based on an entrance exam. The entrance exam is held by the Minority Department. Admission entrance exam is taken for 9th and 11th.
